At the KNPU, the academic program is focused especially on the study of law, public administration,
and police, in order to foster competent young police leader. In this perspective, academic
departments of KNPU consist of three division: Law, Public administration, and Police Science.

Law Department delivers legal knowledge, which is essential to conduct law-enforcing jobs in the field, by educating constitution, criminal Law, criminal procedure, etc. Not only focusing on criminal law, we also teach civilian law, and public administrative law in the purpose of cultivate all-around understanding for legal work. jobs. Through practical and exact legal knowledge, students are expected to fulfill their responsibilities successfully as police.

Public Administration Department teaches various subjects which are necessary to understand government system and its policy management. As police officers are the member of government officers, they are required to have enough understanding about administrative process, and theory. Police Science Department educates students to have basic and professional knowledge about various police study. It encompasses general topics and advanced topics. For effective controlling criminals, and self-defense, this department educates four martial arts: Taekwon-do, Hapki-do, Judo, Kendo. Not only as a martial art, this training is expected to raise up the physical capability as police officers. The trainers are highly professional black-belts masters of its own area. Some of them are Olympic medallists.
